One to Watch: Sean Brennan

Starting at Edinburgh United and Tynecastle boys club, Sean Brennan joined Hibernian at under 15 level. The youngster progressed through to the under 20’s, where the young goalkeeper was handed a two year professional contract. Brennan is now starting to make a name for himself at current club Berwick Rangers.

Brennan was unfortunate not to make an appearance at Hibernian, he did manage to make the bench in a Scottish cup tie against Raith Rovers. However, Brennan was released last summer before joining Berwick Rangers. By his own admission, Brennan found it hard to adapt during the early stages of his Berwick Rangers career. The goalkeeper found himself as a number two behind Kevin Walker, however his season was cut short due to injury – Allowing Brennan a chance to show his undoubted talent.

Brennan has a real drive and determination to improve and that is the kind of trait that will see him reach the top. At just 20 it is a fantastic attitude to have. The battle between Brennan and Walker for the number one shirt will only be a good thing for Berwick Rangers, with two good goalkeepers constantly challenging each other, the hunger to claim the number one shirt will continue to grow.

Brennan is enjoying life at Berwick Rangers, the youngster is having a run of games and putting in good performances that have not gone unnoticed. Brennan has appeared 12 times for Rangers so far this season, he will be looking to improve upon that during the next campaign. Having written a few articles on Berwick Rangers this season, it is great to see the number of young players in and around the first team. Berwick Rangers and Sean Brennan can certainly look forward to a bright future.

Having spoken with Brennan, it is clear the young goalkeeper is hungry for success and to make a name for himself at Berwick Rangers. Brennan is still developing, however one thing is certain – Berwick Rangers have a real talent on their hands.

Berwick have four games left in the season, starting with an away trip to Annan Athletic on Saturday afternoon. I wish Brennan and Beriwck Rangers the very best for the remainder of the season.
