One to Watch: Kieran Hall

Remember the name: Kieran Hall. A player who has been so unfortunate with injuries in his early career, Hall is fully fit again after suffering a stress fracture in his spine. Hall is eager to put his injuries behind him and make his way to the top – He certainly has the ability to do so.

The youngster plays for Carlisle United’s youth team, due to his injury this season he has been limited to 13 starts – That has not stopped the striker putting in some impressive performances for Carlisle’s youth team. Hall has scored twice and added four assists during his injury hit campaign, it is a good return for a player who has not had the run of games he had hoped for.

Hall started playing at the age of 8 for Waldridge Park F.C. Hall stayed at the club for around six years before joining the Darlington F.C. Academy. Moving on from Darlington’s academy after going bust, Hall moved around the North East appearing for Sunderland’s U-14’s and Middlesbrough’s U-15 and U-16 teams. It wasn’t long before Carlisle came calling and offered the young striker a scholarship, unfortunately for Hall, he sprained his medial collateral ligament during his first year.

Despite the injuries, Hall has come back strongly and scored goals for Carlisle in the Youth Cup in his first few seasons with the club. The striker has great pace to get in behind and trouble defenders. This was proved with his wonderful goal against Barnsley in Youth Cup, with the ball played over the top, Hall brings the ball down on his chest with a fantastic first touch, finishing superbly into the bottom corner.

Though the youngster has had his injury problems, his quality is there for all to see. Carlisle should put faith in youngster and hand him a professional contract. Hall could be a real asset for the club in the future. The key for Hall now is to stay fully fit for a long period of time. I hope for Kieran that he has got his injuries out of the way early and he can now look forward to a long and successful career.

I wish Kieran all the best for the future and look forward to writing further articles about his undoubted talent. He is certainly one to keep an eye on and a fantastic young player.
