Premier League Preview

The season is reaching the business end now, here are my predictions for the latest round of fixtures in the Premier League.

Tottenham v Bournemouth (Saturday, Kick-Off 12:30 GMT)

Tottenham are on great form at the moment, Bournemouth are a good side but I don’t see anything other than a home win. Harry Kane is on the comeback trail now and I think Spurs will go from strength to strength until the end of the season. Bournemouth are seven points above the relegation zone and I do not see them being dragged into a relegation fight.

I am going for Tottenham to win and to keep the pressure on Chelsea.

Prediction: Tottenham 3 Bournemouth 1

Crystal Palace v Leicester City (Saturday, Kick-Off 15:00 GMT)

Crystal Palace have found a bit of form at just the right time. Sam Allardyce is proving yet again that he is the master of avoiding the drop. Leicester meanwhile are still in with a chance of progressing in the Champions League. I think Shakespeare will make some changes for this game with the second leg in mind.

I think Palace will just about edge this one.

Prediction: Crystal Palace 2 Leicester 1

Sunderland v West Ham United (Saturday, Kick-Off 15:00)

If Sunderland are to pull off the greatest of great escapes, they must start with a win in this game. However, they just do not have the quality to stay in this league, they have been fighting relegation for so many seasons now and its finally caught up with them. Slaven Bilic seems to be under constant pressure at West Ham, speculation of other managers coming in seems to be hitting the paper every week.

Sunderland have to hope that Jermaine Defoe is on form in this game – It is their only chance of picking up three points. I think West Ham will win this one, they have too much quality for Sunderland and I think that will show on the pitch.

Prediction: Sunderland 1 West Ham 3

Everton v Burnley (Saturday, Kick-Off 15:00 GMT)

The long wait for an away win for Burnley continues, I don’t think they will pick one up at Goodison Park either. With Lukaku having the best season of his career so far, I can see him bagging another few goals in this one.

Ronald Koeman has done a fine job at Everton this season. In the next campaign he will surely be looking to break into the top four, certainly exciting times ahead for Everton.

Prediction: Everton 2 Burnley 0

Stoke City v Hull City (Saturday, Kick-Off 15:00 GMT)

A few seasons ago I used to dread this fixture as it was usually a rather dull affair. This time around though things are different, both teams play good football and I think we will be in for an exciting game. Marco Silva has been fantastic for Hull and we will see this one as a winnable game. Hull are struggling away from home but I think they will pick up a win in this one.

Mark Hughes is a very underrated manager, the job he has done at Stoke is incredible.

Prediction: Stoke 1 Hull 2

Watford v Swansea (Saturday, Kick-Off 15:00 GMT)

Watford are a strange team aren’t they? They are so difficult to predict because you just never know what you will get with them. Swansea are fighting for their lives and Paul Clement has them playing some really good football.

I can see Swansea getting a win in this one, it will be a close one though. A win for the Swans will keep things interesting at the bottom of the table.

Prediction: Watford 1 Swansea 2

Southampton v Manchester City (Saturday, Kick-Off 17:30 GMT)

Southampton picked up an impressive and important win against West Brom at the Hawthorns last time out. Manchester City were comfortable winners against Hull last weekend, Guardiola will be hoping for more of the same in this one. However, Southampton are a good team and well set up.

I think City might struggle here, I can see Southampton picking up a draw in this game.

Prediction: Southampton 2 Manchester City 2

West Brom v Liverpool (Sunday, Kick-Off 13:30 GMT)

The Hawthorns is a tough place to go, Tony Pulis has done a tremendous job at West Brom this season. I do think think Liverpool will pick up a win here though. Jurgen Klopp is determined to get Liverpool Champions League football for next season. With Coutinho and Firmino playing the way they are I think Liverpool will just about edge it.

Prediction: West Brom 1 Liverpool 2

Manchester United v Chelsea (Sunday, Kick-Off 16:00 GMT)

This is a massive game and even bigger being close to the end of the season. I think it is Chelsea’s title, they have too many points on the board for Tottenham to catch them. Manchester United are the draw specialists, if they want to challenge for the title and top four next year then those draws must be converted into wins.

I think Chelsea will win this one, I think it might be a high scoring game too.

Prediction: Manchester United 2 Chelsea 3

Middlesbrough v Arsenal (Monday, Kick-Off 20:00 GMT)

Two teams at opposite ends of the league but both struggling in their own right. I said before that not replacing Karanka with an experienced manager was a massive mistake. Middlesbrough and Sunderland are both certainties for the drop. Arsenal are all over the place and if they do not pick up a win at the Riverside then Wenger should walk immediately after the game.

The Arsenal players seem to have downed tools on Wenger which is unforgivable really. The Gunners should pick up a win here.

Prediction: Middlesbrough 1 Arsenal 2
