Premier League Preview

Some big games over the weekend, can Middlesbrough keep fighting and pull of the great escape? Who will come out on top between Arsenal and Manchester United. See my predictions below.

All Saturday 15:00 GMT Kick offs unless stated.

West Ham United v Tottenham Hotspur (Friday, 20:00 GMT)

This is a big game for both sides, for very different reasons. Tottenham must keep the pressure on Chelsea, as for West Ham – There has been continued speculation regarding Slaven Bilic’s future, I think he has done a good job especially with what he has had to deal with this season, the West Ham board should realise that before making any silly decisions.

Unfortunately for Bilic I can see Tottenham keeping the pressure up on Chelsea. A win would cut the gap to a single point before Chelsea play again on Monday night.

Prediction: West Ham 1 Tottenham 3

Manchester City v Crystal Palace (Saturday, 12:30 GMT)

After a spell of impressive results Palace have stalled in recent weeks. Manchester City haven’t been at it recently either, however with the return of Gabriel Jesus, who gives City an added threat, I think Manchester City will come out on top in this one.

Pep Guardiola’s men need the three points in this game to keep ahead of Manchester United, in the hunt for a top four finish. Palace on the other hand are not yet safe, it is vital they do not think that after the good work they produced in dragging themselves out of trouble. Palace could wuite easily be dragged back if they think they are safe.

Prediction: Manchester City 2 Crystal Palace 0

Bournemouth v Stoke City

Bournemouth moved into the top half after their win last weekend which relegated Sunderland. In that game, Bournemouth looked a real threat at times and Josh King has had a really impressive campaign, the club will do well to keep a hold of him in the summer. With both sides able to play with a bit of freedom now, it should be an entertaining game.

Both sides have players who can punish the opposition. I think this will be an entertaining draw.

Prediction: Bournemouth 2 Stoke City 2

Hull City v Sunderland

This game is huge for Hull, many will be looking at this game as a guaranteed home win. However, we have seen it time and time again, when relegation is confirmed a team can spring a few surprise results. Hull will need to make sure that does not happen in this game, they must start on the front foot and take the game to Sunderland from the very first minute.

Sunderland lack goals and are very nervous at the back, I think Hull will win this game, it wont be easy though.

Prediction: Hull City 2 Sunderland 1

Burnley v West Brom

For me, this game has a draw written all over it. Burnley aren’t mathematically safe yet but it would take a huge turnaround for them to go down. West Brom have hit a brick wall recently and their season is starting to fizzle out, which is really disappointing as they’ve had a brilliant season.

Prediction: Burnley 1 West Brom 1

Leicester City v Watford

With Leicester being at home, it is hard to see past them getting a win in this one. Watford are a difficult side to watch, they were beaten by Liverpool last time out thanks to an astonishing goal by Emre Can. They could have easily picked up a point in that game but it wasn’t to be.

Leicester have their fight and cutting edge back, Jamie Vardy is back amongst the goals which is great for Leicester and England. I fancy him to grab a couple in this game.

Prediction: Leicester City 3 Watford 1

Swansea City v Everton

This is a difficult game to call, Swansea need the three points especially with Hull facing Sunderland. Everton are up for a real battle in this game because Swansea are fighting for their lives.

I think this game will end in a draw, which wont do Swansea much good at all.

Prediction: Swansea City 2 Everton 2

Liverpool v Southampton (Sunday, 13:30 GMT)

Liverpool have played at least a game more than their other rivals for the top four. They must win this game and keep the top four in their hands. Many people will be predicting an easy win for Liverpool, but Southampton are a decent side and will make it tough for Liverpool.

I do see Jurgen Klopp’s side coming out of this one with a win though.

Prediction: Liverpool 2 Southampton 1

Arsenal v Manchester United (Sunday, 16:00 GMT)

What a massive game this is. Arsene Wenger could strengthen his claim for a further season at Arsenal if they manage to win here. Manchester United, they are a difficult side to watch under Mourinho, they are the draw specialists this season. 14 draws so far this season, more than any other side.

With the Europa League in mind, Mourinho is likely to make a lot of changes in this game. Arsenal still have a couple of games in hand, they could still finish in the top four. I think Arsenal will win this one.

Prediction: Arsenal 2 Manchester United 0

Chelsea v Middlesbrough (Monday, 20:00 GMT)

Middlesbrough made a good account of themselves against Manchester City last time out, however I believe this will be the game that confirms their relegation.

Middlesbrough have to take the game to Chelsea, they have to pick up a win. That will leave Boro wide open at the back and they will almost be playing into Chelsea’s hands. Chelsea will be too strong for Boro in this game.

Prediction Chelsea 3 Middlesbrough 0
